Review: Skin79 Scandal Rose Vanilla BB Pact

The "BB Pact" writing got scratched off...

Hello! Today I will be reviewing a product by Skin79.
I love Skin79's BB cream, so if you have a chance, check them out. I used up a ton of samples from them, but haven't been able to purchase a full size BB cream yet.
This product, as you can see, is a compact. It is a powder, but I suppose they call it a BB pact because it is meant to complement the Scandal Rose Vanilla BB cream?
I don't own the Rose Vanilla BB cream, so today I'll just be reviewing the pact.
I believe I bought this on GMarket while I was in Korea for somewhere around $10 on sale. I saw it on Amazon for about $15 in the states I think.

When buying Skin79, make sure it has this little silver Korean sticker on it.
This lets you know that the product is authentic.

So as a side note, it seems like a lot of sellers are selling "fake" versions of Skin79's products. This includes their BB Cream. I don't know why they would do this, but do your research before buying. Make sure it has the authentication label.

So the packaging is a standard compact, but I like how there is a plastic separator between the powder and where you place the sponge. It is more sanitary, but this packaging seems to be standard for most Korean compacts.

My only complaint about the overall packaging, is how easily the writing on the front cover gets scratched off. The "BB Pact" was completely scratched off mine, and even the "n" and "Rose" words are beginning to get scratched off on mine.

Skin79 Scandal Rose Vanilla BB Pact (UV Interception, SPF 30 PA+++)
Size: 12g
Rose complex
- Coverage + Long lasting + sebum control

Directions: Apply using the puff, which is included, on the entire face evenly at the last step of base make-up.

Skin79 delivers when they call the compact "rose vanilla," it definitely has a floral/rosy smell to it. I don't smell any hints of vanilla though. The smell is pretty subtle, I think it smells alright.

Swatches

I swiped some of the powder on my finger. As you can tell, it is really light. I think this powder only comes in one color.

I swiped the powder onto my hand, but you can't really see it. I included a close up/zoom swatch above so you can compare the color to my natural skin color.

Coverage

Eyeliner, Eye Shadow, Lipstick (from top to bottom)

One application
Two applications

You barely see the difference between one and two applications. In the second application it looks like the eyeliner is covered a bit more, but it doesn't appear significantly different. The coverage is super sheer.

How I use this Product

After applying my foundation I pat this powder all over my face, I mainly use it as a settling/oil control powder.

My Thoughts on the Product

When I purchased this product, I wanted a nice powder-type foundation, unfortunately, this product does not do that. It is a super sheer powder, with barely any coverage. It was really disappointing. While the rose vanilla smell isn't bad, I'd rather have a powder that isn't scented? The idea of patting on some powder foundation that smells like roses doesn't really appeal to me.

While I don't expect powder foundations in compact form to have a lot of coverage, I expect it to at least have some color to it with a slight amount of coverage. As you can see from my swatches, this color is so sheer, and it blends right it, like it disappears. The compact works pretty well as a setting powder-- it offers SPF benefits and also has pretty good sebum control. It seems to last pretty long, but other than that, I would say the powder does nothing.

Who do I Recommend this Product to?

People with oily/combination skin. It works quite well for sebum or oil control, but honestly, I can't really recommend this product. If it only cost a couple of dollars, I would say it isn't a bad deal. But considering it costs $15+ in the states, it totally isn't worth it. You can find better compacts.

Rating: 1.5/5

Pros:
- Sanitary Packaging (but this is standard for most Korean compacts)
- Good oil/sebum control
- High SPF
- Long wear time

Cons:
- Expensive if buying abroad
- Not a big fan of having my compact powder smell like roses
- The text scratches off the compact so easily
- Ultra sheer coverage/does nothing for me

So that is my thoughts on Skin79's BB pact. Thoughts? Feel free to comment below. See you all next post :)

My Ramblings: K-Pop MVs!!!

Hello everyone!
Today I am doing another post of randomness, mainly, K-Pop. It seems like a lot of artists are making their comebacks? Especially this month. For me, a lot of anticipated artists made their comeback. So for this post, I am just going to post the MV's of some of my favorite videos and songs right now :) Take a listen~~

비투비 -뛰뛰빵빵
BTOB - Beep Beep

An upbeat song by BTOB, the boy's are back with a new and somewhat "bad boy" look.
This song is about what? Love of course. What else is new K-Pop? Haha. In this song they are getting over a tough break up, but with attitude.

레드애플 - 둘도 없는 바보
LED Apple - Left Alone

This one is basically a heartbreaking ballad, and it can't be categorized as an MV because it's just the music...but anyway, I've got this one on constant replay right now. I can never deny the beauty of Hanbyul's voice. Man-- can he sing. I was always obsessed with Kim Jonghyun's voice (SHINee), but Hanbyul takes the cake for me. There isn't a voice quite like his. He can stylize his voice so well (just take a listen to his Music Note Bruno Mars' covers.) I love his voice and this song is truly heart wrenching. He does not disappoint. See the English translation here.

비에이피 - 1004 (천사)
B.A.P - 1004 (Angel)

A bit of a play on words here, 천사, or "cheon sa," means both 1004 and angel in Korean. I love this song and the mv too. It has a nice rock feel, a bit different from B.A.P's other songs. I am a fan, it definitely has me dancing to it ;)

루나플라이 - 길치
Lunafly - Poor Sense of Direction

So this can't count as a MV either, it is from an OST actually (Pretty Man). I don't know how many people know Lunafly, but they are my favorite group. They aren't super popular, but they really appeal to the international audience. I saw them in concert in Korea. The three members are Sam, Teo, and Yun. They play instruments and sing quite well. They are singer songwriters, and I really love the mellow feel of their music. This particular song has a cute and peppy feel.

So that's it for this post. What songs are you guys listening to right now? Any K-Pop groups or artists you love or think I should know? Do you know/like the songs I posted? Let me know in the comment section!

Review: Skin Food Royal Honey Mask

Hello guys!
Today I'm reviewing Skin Food's Royal Honey Mask.
This is actually a favorite of mine, so today I'm going to share my thoughts with you :) After trying some samples, I bought mine on ebay for about $11 (including shipping).

First off, I really like the packaging. Skin Food usually puts their face masks in little tubs, but this packaging is a lot more sanitary. It also comes with a convenient pump, and it is also really nice that it comes with a removable clip. This clip is great if you are packing the product and don't want it to leak.

Skin Food Royal Honey Mask
Size: 150ml
An exfoliating mask with royal black honey and royal jelly extracts that sloughs away dead skin cells and transforms rough skin into a nice honey-glazed complexion.

[Directions] 1. Apply a quarter-sized amount evenly to the face and massage gently. 2. Leave on for 10 minutes until the texture turns watery. Massage in gentle circular motions until clumps of cellulose granules and impurities appear. Wipe off and cleanse with a foaming cleanser.

Swatches

As you can see, the product starts out thick (almost like honey) but after massaging it in, it turns watery. It smells strongly of honey, with a slightly perfumed  scent. If you are sensitive to smells, I don't suggest you use this mask. It doesn't smell very good haha.

The product also appears yellow in the bottle, but it is actually clear.

How I use this Product

Unlike the instructions, I usually end up dispensing more than the recommended amount. I don't find a quarter size to be enough. I usually do double that amount. I spread it on my face, then massage for a moment or two. I let it sit for ten minutes, but I find that it doesn't usually get quite as watery as I expect it to. For some reason it seems like my face absorbs the mask?

After that I massage my face, until little white particles or "clumps of impurities" or "cellulose granules" form. It seems like the mask is taking off the dead skin! I keep massaging gently until it seems like there isn't any more impurities coming out. Lastly, I will sometimes simply rinse off the mask, or occasionally I'll use a foaming cleanser.

My Thoughts on the Product?

I really love this mask!!!! But it is really tough for me to get past the honey smell-- I don't really like it. The mask also doesn't exactly feel good initially, it just feels really greasy. It also gets all over your hands and makes a greasy mess, and you have to rinse your hands. But, if you get past that minor unpleasantness, it is totally worth the smell and greasiness.

It amazes me how many impurities, or dead skin comes out of my skin. It feels great when I massage my face, and it really cleans out my pores. I love it. Lastly, after I rinse the mask off, my skin feels as supple as a baby's!!! I am not kidding you, my skin looks like it is glowing and feels so smooth and soft.

Who do I Recommend this Product to?

Everyone! This product removes all of those impurities-- from dry skin, to clearing out your pores, to removing "cellulose granuales." It is great! I use it about once a week, and it always does wonders for my skin. It freshens and brightens it up, and I also feel like it tightens my pores. It is still gentle enough for all skin types, as long as you don't rub your face really hard.

The price isn't bad, about $11 online and you can always get some samples online if you aren't sure about buying the full size without trying it first.

Rating: 4.8/5

Pros:
- Removes skin impurities
- Tightens your pores
- Makes your skin look brighter/healthier
- Moisturizing
- Gives you supple and soft skin
- Comes with a pump (sanitary packaging)

Cons:
- The smell is strong (not a fan of the scent)
- It's kind of greasy feeling

I had to deduct .2 away because of the smell and the greasiness of the product-- kind of messy. But the overall benefits outweigh the negatives. Love, love this mask! :) See you next post~~

Review: Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick

Hello everyone!
Today I will be reviewing Etude House's Bling Bling Eye Stick, an eye shadow stick. I just love the name of it! Bling Bling eye stick. Did you know that SHINee endorses Etude House? I love SHINee. Whenever I use this stick, I think of Jonghyun (my bias) haha. Bling Bling Jonghyun-- though he doesn't specifically endorse this product ^^;

The packaging is simple, but I like it a lot. It is such a light-weight stick, so easy to just toss in your bag on the go. It has a cap, and you twist the top portion of the stick to make the stick come out more or less. I like how the shadow tip is rounded, making it easier to apply.

Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick
Size: 1.4g
Twist-up eyeshadow stick brightens eyes with its creamy soft and glittery formula. Rich color payoff applies color true and with an opaque finish for standout eyes. Easy-to-use design comes with a rounded tip for uniform and precise application of eyeshadow.

I found the description on yesstyle. Anyway, this eye shadow stick comes in six colors, mine happens to be in white meteor:

From the Etude House website

I love how multi-purpose this stick is! It isn't only used for eye shadow, you can see all the many different uses here:

Swatches

Close up

It is quite sparkly, and has a beautiful pigment. It is very creamy, and applies onto the skin very smoothly. I love the color pay-off, so pretty :)

Applied to the inner corner of my eye

How I use this Product

Since the color is so pigmented, and I don't like white sparkly eye shadow on my eyes, I use this color to brighten my eyes. I always apply it under my eyes to look more awake, to make my eyes appear a little bigger, and to make my dark circles/bags less apparent. I use it everyday, because it is so easy to use. I just swipe it under my eyes in the morning, and I'm ready to go. Less than 5 seconds.

My Thoughts on the Product?

I can't rave enough about this eye shadow stick! I ADORE IT! The pigment and color pay off is great. It also stays all day long. I always apply it under my eyes in the morning, and it doesn't budge all day. I literally have to scrub it off at night. I love how it makes my eyes look brighter and bigger, it is such a pretty white. Although it is pretty sparkly, and some people don't like that, I think the sparkle just makes the color pop even more. Just be careful if you apply it under your eyes, don't put it too close to your eye ball-- the sparkles can possibly get into your eye and irritate them/make them red or puffy.

They are also so cheap! A lot of bang for your buck. I got mine in Korea I think, but I see them on ebay for a little under $6 including shipping! A real steal. I want to buy more at some point. All of the colors are so pretty.

Who do I Recommend this Product to?

I recommend this to literally everyone. You need this! Who doesn't want a creamy, pigmented, and long lasting eye shadow stick with a million purposes? You can even take it with you on the go. You can use it to brighten your eyes, or for eye shadow. The color is so beautiful, and I love the sparkles. I highly recommend you buy one! It is a staple in my beauty routine and I wouldn't go a day without it.

Rating: 5/5

Pros:
- Cheap
- Highly pigmented
- Sparkly
- Creamy
- Long lasting
- Easy to apply
- A lot of product

Cons:
- NONE!

If you haven't tried this product yet-- please go out and buy it! You will not regret it. See you guys next post :D

Review: Dearberry Magic Oil Control Powder

Hello everyone!
It's been freezing in NY lately, and we've had a few snow days at my college already. I hope everyone is staying warm in NY, it is so icy and slippery out there. Anyway, today I will be reviewing another make up product by Dearberry. This is a oil control powder, and the packaging is really cute! :) I think I saw it online for about $12-13.

I've talked a little bit about Dearberry in a past post (Dearberry lip balm), and I actually mentioned them in a post on my study abroad blog on Tumblr. It's actually a blog I co-wrote with my twin, but she did most of the posting/writing haha. If anyone is interested in reading about our study abroad experience together, feel free to check it out here: our study abroad blog

The packaging is pretty similar to most loose powder make up. It comes in a round container with a screw on lid, and once opened, the container has little holes where the powder comes out. It also comes with a puff applicator.

Dearberry Magic Oil Control Powder
Size: 9g
Loose powder that gives you a smooth, flawless and shine-free complexion!

So unfortunately, I couldn't find directions for the powder. But it is an oil control powder, so I assume that you just pat some of the product on after your base make up.

Swatches

As you can see, it is just a standard loose powder. Almost like a mineral powder. I'd compare it to a mineral veil. It appears pinkish-beige, but when you blend it, it is translucent.

How I use this Product

After applying all of my make up (concealer, foundation, sometimes a powder foundation) I pat this on in my oily areas. I mainly pat it onto my t-zone: nose, cheeks, and forehead.

My Thoughts on the Product?

Love it. It is so convenient. It has lightweight packaging, and it is so easy to bring on the go if you get oily later in the day. All you have to do is pat it on with the included puff applicator. This stuff is great! I use it everyday and it ALWAYS keeps my oiliness at bay. When I apply this powder, I never seem to get oily, even if I am wearing makeup from 9am-11pm at night. I think I may have reapplied the powder once in the afternoon, but usually, this product lasts the entire day without re-application.

I suppose that after a while the puff gets dirty from use, and is really hard to clean. But in that case, you can easily switch over to a powder brush.

Who do I Recommend this Product to?

Anyone who gets oily during the day, or needs to touch up their base make up during the day because they start to get oily. This powder is great! It reminds me of a mineral veil. I only apply it to my t-zone usually, but it works well for setting make up too.

Rating: 5/ 5

Pros:
- Affordable
- Lightweight packaging
- Long lasting product
- Sets my makeup
- Easy application
- Prevents oiliness, especially in my t-zone
- Good for all skin types

Cons:
- Can't think of any

Hope you enjoyed reading my post! Until next time~~

K-Pop Spotlight: BTOB (비투비)

Hello everyone!
This weekend my post is going to be something other than a review...I am going to talk about K-Pop! Today I am dedicating my post to the 7 member boy group: BTOB! BTOB (비투비) is pronounced "B-to-B," which stands for "Born to Beat." The first time I saw their group name, I said "b-tob" haha. I like the name of their fan club too, melodies. Isn't that so cute? ^^

So initially, I wasn't exactly a fan of their music. The first album I heard was Press Play and I wasn't a big fan of the upbeat sound. I decided to give BTOB a second try when I heard 아버지 (Father), Irresistable Lips (그 입술을 뺏었어), and Insane (비밀)

Interesting to note: Actually, 비밀 (pronounced bimil) actually means secret in Korean. I think a lot of the time, when they have a title with English and Korean in parenthesis, they completely rename songs and give it a new English title. They rarely have translations...^^; I wonder why.

I then took a re-listen to Press Play, which I had barely listened to, and fell in love. Go figure. Giving things a second try can be beneficial ;) I particularly liked their song WOW. The choreography is amazingly impressive, the song is upbeat and catchy, and I like the lyrics. BTOB is a pretty new group, they only debuted in 2012. I like all of their albums so far, including their newest, Thriller-- which seems to have a Michael Jackson-ish concept.

So here's a little info on the 7 members:

Eunkwang: Main Vocalist, Leader (Age: 23)
Minhyuk: Vocalist, Rapper, Face of the group (Age: 23)
Changsub: Vocalist (Age: 22)
Hyunsik: Vocalist, Dancer (Age: 21)
Peniel: Vocalist, Dancer (Age 20)
Ilhoon: Vocalist, Rapper (Age: 19)
Sungjae: Vocalist, Rapper, Maknae (Age:19)

Although they are not super popular, BTOB holds a special place in my heart. They hold their own vocally and are great dancers, with cute and down-to-earth personalities. They were originally supposed to be a boy band and I heard they trained for a long time, so I guess that is why I think they are so well-rounded.

But really, you can hear how powerful their vocals are in Father, a gorgeous and breathtaking ballad! Eunkwang and Changsub are quite the crooners, with beautiful voices. The only member I am not sure can hold his own is Peniel. He is kind of derpy and I really like him (he always makes me laugh), but he only gets a few rap lines in English. I don't think he's the greatest rapper, but they probably make him rap the English lines because he is Korean American and fluent in English.

Overall I suggest you take a listen to BTOB! They are an underrated group and I really love them, and like all of their albums. I am mainly posting because they are having their comeback in two days!!!! It is called 뛰뛰빵빵: Beep Beep. It is the sound of a car horn honking. Judging by their concept images and all the music teasers, I know I am gonna love this album too.

So I'll post a teaser of their comeback album below! You can also view some of their music video's (mv's) by clicking the hyperlinks above in my blog post. Any BTOB fans out there? What do you guys think of them? Feel free to leave a comment~~ I can't wait until their comeback!!!!!

Review: Skin Food Cucumber Soothing Mask Wash Off

Sorry the label looks so ugly, it got damaged on top :/

Hello everyone! Today I will be doing another review on Korean skin care. This face mask is by Skin Food, my favorite Korean company for facial masks! I love how Skin Food "thinks of food as nourishment for your skin," so they commonly use products like broccoli, honey, or even carrots in their products.

I bought this while I was in Korea, and from what I've seen online from America, it goes for about $15. You can also buy samples of the mask online if you just want to try it before buying the full size product. The nice think about Korea is that they give out tons of samples; this is their marketing technique. So when you buy online, and if it is from a Korean seller, chances are, you will get some free samples to try out.

So the packaging is pretty standard for Skin Food when it comes to their wash off face masks. It comes in a cylindrical, plastic container or tub, with a cover that you take off by twisting it. My only complaint about the packaging is that it is unsanitary. It doesn't come with a little plastic spatula, which some Korean products like to do. The spatula is much more sanitary because you aren't physically touching the product with your fingers. I guess you can always buy your own spatula?

Skin Food's English description:

Skin Food Cucumber Soothing Mask Wash Off
Size: 100g
A wash-off mask that soothes skin and helps moisturization. Contains cucumber extract.

[Directions] After cleansing, gently massage over dry face. Leave on your face for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off.

Swatches

As you can see, the product is gloppy and gel-like. It is see-through. This mask has a very powerful cucumber scent. It smells exactly like cucumber, but magnified, by a lot.

How I use this Product

After washing my face and patting it dry with a towel, I spread the mask onto my face. I let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with water. I use it about once or twice a week, sometimes less or more depending on the condition of my skin.

My Thoughts on the Product?

This product does what it promises to do: (1) It is very soothing (2) It aids in moisturizing the skin. I find that it also helps reduce redness. I purchased this mask when my skin was breaking out, and very red and got irritated easily. You know when your skin gets really sensitive, red, or the break outs are really sensitive? This mask is your best friend. The gel is very gentle and cooling. But, here's a little tip, you can stick this mask in the fridge. What's better than having a cold cucumber mask on your face?

This mask is great for when my skin gets red and needs some soothing, but isn't my absolute favorite Skin Food mask. Ones that particularly come to mind is their Egg White Pore Mask and I adore their Royal Honey Mask. Maybe I'll review those in the future. Overall, I like this mask. It does what it says it will do.

Who do I Recommend this Product to?

This mask is great for all skin types. I recommend it to people who have skin that is red from irritation, dried out, or simply needs their skin to be soothed. This product is great for soothing your skin and reducing redness.

Rating: 4.5/5

Pros:
- Lasts a long time (you don't need to put a ton on your face)
- Soothing
- Reduces redness
- Moisturizing
- You can stick it in the fridge to optimize the cooling affect
- Great for all skin types

Cons:
- A little expensive (If you are buying it from abroad)
- Unsanitary (no spatula)
- The cucumber scent is a little too strong for my taste

This mask is really nice! I love how soothing it is and how it really can help when my skin gets irritated and red. But the scent is a little too strong for me, and it is expensive to buy abroad. Feel free to leave a comment! See you next post~~

Review: Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit

Today I will be reviewing Etude House's Precious Mineral Bright Fight BB cream. I know this BB cream is pretty popular, and there seems to be a lot of mixed reviews; I know some people who call it their HG (holy grail product), and others, who didn't like it. I'll be sharing my honest opinion and my experience with it! It comes in 4 shades: N02 Light Beige, W13 Natural Beige, W24 Honey Beige, & W15 Sand. Mine is in shade N02 Light Beige.
The first BB cream I tried was by Missha, and it belonged to my sister haha. She later got this BB cream, and I tried it as well. I finally decided to buy my own, about a year ago, and I believe I got it on ebay for somewhere around $12. I have been using this one for a while now.

The packaging is pretty nice. It's simple and straightforward. It has a pump and comes in a tube, and also has a cap. The pump is a little sensitive for my taste, though. You have to be super gentle and careful when pushing down. If you do a full pump, well, that'd probably be too much product. You have to do this gentle, half pumping motion in order to get a good amount. It takes some practice ^^;

Here is Etude's House's description of the product:

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit (SPF30/PA++, Whitening & Anti-Wrinkle, Anti-Darkening)
Size: 60g
Color: N02 Light Beige
BB Cream formulated with Pearl Powder with an improved adhesive texture to promote moist, radiant looking skin while protecting against UV damage and wrinkles.

[Directions] Apply cream to all areas of the face. Pat to finish.

From what I've seen Etude House also states that their BB Cream: "promotes silky complexion with pearl infused sheer coverage. It also contains adenosine & arbutin for anti-wrinkle & whitening efficacious. SPF for UV protection and Brightening Care Sea Algae is for Antioxidant Moisture Care"

They say "zero oil" and "longer lasting" and "dazzling skin" on their International website. Shall I put this to the test?

Oil Test

Oil test on blotting paper

Does their product really have "zero oil" ? Definitely not. This particular BB cream contains quite a significant amount of oil. The amount of oil that accumulates after 3 hours is surprising! I guess it has to do with the fact that this BB cream has more of a "dewy" finish, versus others that give you a more matte appearance.

Swatch

So naturally, the color looks pretty dark on my hand. It needs to be blended out quite a bit before it begins to look natural. This is the lightest shade, N02 Light Beige.

Coverage Test

1st picture (top to bottom): Eyeliner, Eye shadow, Lipstick

So I started out by applying eyeliner, eye shadow, and lipstick to my hand. I applied one layer of BB cream on top of it with a foundation brush, then applied a second layer with the foundation brush. As you can see, the coverage isn't bad. I would say it has light to medium coverage.

I happened to have a really huge and red pimple on this day *sigh*

So as you can see on my ugly no make up face, I had a really big red pimple that day. My skin was also looking slightly flushed. I guess having a red pimple is good for showing the BB cream's coverage ability? The second photo shows the BB cream applied to my face in natural light, and the last is a photo taken with indoor lighting. I think the BB cream did a nice job getting rid of the redness in my face-- it gave me a nice even skin tone, and even covered the redness of my ugly big pimple.

Taken with indoor lighting, it was nighttime...

So after ten hours, the BB cream was still looking good. When I tested this BB cream for this review, I ONLY WORE BB CREAM, I didn't put anything under/on top, and didn't do any touch ups during the day. It is still looking nice, and surprisingly, I didn't get oily in my usual problem spots...my T-zone.

How I use this Product

I pump a small amount of the BB cream onto the back of my hand. I use a foundation brush to dab the BB cream onto my face, then use the brush to blend it. I hear a lot of people say that you should use your fingers, because the warmth helps the BB cream blend more naturally/makes the color blend in better. I think this belief has some truth to it, so I'll usually finish blending the BB cream in with my fingers (but make sure they're clean!)

If I need more coverage I'll pump some more onto my hand and repeat, and if there is a problem spot, I'll dab the BB cream directly onto that spot with my finger and pat it gently to blend it in.

My Thoughts on the Product?

I've been using Etude House's Bright Fit BB Cream for more than a year now. I like it, because it gives my skin a slightly dewy, yet natural finish. When I am looking for a light-type "foundation" I always turn to this BB cream. I don't find it to be heavy, and it is long lasting. It gives me an even skin tone, and especially works well when my cheeks tend to get flushed in the winter.

Although this product seems to contain a lot of oil, I don't find it to be an issue, even with my own oily combination skin. I like to apply a powder on top of this to set the BB cream, or I will apply a sheer powder that controls oil. This ensures that I don't get oily in the T-zone, and I usually don't have to do touch ups later in the day, unless I am exercising a lot or it is really hot out. It doesn't break me out, and it feels really light compared to my other heavier foundations.

So all in all, I really like this BB cream. It works well for me, and leaves a nice even skin tone with a slightly dewy finish. Etude House also says that this product "whitens," is "anti-wrinkling," and "anti-darkening" but I don't really find this to be true. My face is naturally a tad lighter than the rest of my body (like my hand), but this product doesn't make my face paler. I don't have a wrinkle problem, so I can't attest for whether it is "anti-wrinkle," and in terms of "anti-darkening," I can only think that they are referring to dark circles or dark acne spots, or something like that? I have some dark circles and this hasn't done anything for them.

I guess I don't care about the whitening properties so much (who wants a pale as white face when their body is darker?) The SPF30 is also a nice feature, it is a pretty high SPF. I like products with SPF in it because it protects my sensitive acne prone skin from the harsh UV rays of the sun.

Who do I Recommend this Product to?

People with slightly dry or combination skin. Because this BB cream naturally has a lot of oil in it, I think that people with drier skin might have a good experience with using this BB cream? I also think that people with combination skin or somewhat oily skin (like mine), might like this product as well. If you're very oily, I don't suggest this product, because it has a more "dewy finish." It isn't super dewy, but it isn't matte either. Somewhere in between.

I heard from other people that Etude House's Cotton Fit version is better suited for people with more oily skin, so if you are afraid of the oil contained in this product, go check it out! I haven't tried it, but I really don't like foundations that are completely matte. I like more natural finishes.

Rating: 4.5/5

Pros:
- Affordable
- Light-Medium Coverage (it is buildable)
- Long lasting
- Has a natural, dewy-ish finish
- Evens out skin tone
- Doesn't break me out
- High SPF

Cons:
- The pump is too sensitive
- Contains a lot of oil
- If you're looking for full coverage, this product isn't it
- Etude House doesn't seem to deliver on some of their claims: "zero oil," "whitening," "anti-darkening"
