Review: Skin Food Cucumber Soothing Mask Wash Off

Sorry the label looks so ugly, it got damaged on top :/

Hello everyone! Today I will be doing another review on Korean skin care. This face mask is by Skin Food, my favorite Korean company for facial masks! I love how Skin Food "thinks of food as nourishment for your skin," so they commonly use products like broccoli, honey, or even carrots in their products.

I bought this while I was in Korea, and from what I've seen online from America, it goes for about $15. You can also buy samples of the mask online if you just want to try it before buying the full size product. The nice think about Korea is that they give out tons of samples; this is their marketing technique. So when you buy online, and if it is from a Korean seller, chances are, you will get some free samples to try out.

So the packaging is pretty standard for Skin Food when it comes to their wash off face masks. It comes in a cylindrical, plastic container or tub, with a cover that you take off by twisting it. My only complaint about the packaging is that it is unsanitary. It doesn't come with a little plastic spatula, which some Korean products like to do. The spatula is much more sanitary because you aren't physically touching the product with your fingers. I guess you can always buy your own spatula?

Skin Food's English description:

Swatches

As you can see, the product is gloppy and gel-like. It is see-through. This mask has a very powerful cucumber scent. It smells exactly like cucumber, but magnified, by a lot.

How I use this Product

After washing my face and patting it dry with a towel, I spread the mask onto my face. I let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with water. I use it about once or twice a week, sometimes less or more depending on the condition of my skin.

My Thoughts on the Product?

This product does what it promises to do: (1) It is very soothing (2) It aids in moisturizing the skin. I find that it also helps reduce redness. I purchased this mask when my skin was breaking out, and very red and got irritated easily. You know when your skin gets really sensitive, red, or the break outs are really sensitive? This mask is your best friend. The gel is very gentle and cooling. But, here's a little tip, you can stick this mask in the fridge. What's better than having a cold cucumber mask on your face?

This mask is great for when my skin gets red and needs some soothing, but isn't my absolute favorite Skin Food mask. Ones that particularly come to mind is their Egg White Pore Mask and I adore their Royal Honey Mask. Maybe I'll review those in the future. Overall, I like this mask. It does what it says it will do.

Who do I Recommend this Product to?

This mask is great for all skin types. I recommend it to people who have skin that is red from irritation, dried out, or simply needs their skin to be soothed. This product is great for soothing your skin and reducing redness.

Rating: 4.5/5

Pros:
- Lasts a long time (you don't need to put a ton on your face)
- Soothing
- Reduces redness
- Moisturizing
- You can stick it in the fridge to optimize the cooling affect
- Great for all skin types

Cons:
- A little expensive (If you are buying it from abroad)
- Unsanitary (no spatula)
- The cucumber scent is a little too strong for my taste

This mask is really nice! I love how soothing it is and how it really can help when my skin gets irritated and red. But the scent is a little too strong for me, and it is expensive to buy abroad. Feel free to leave a comment! See you next post~~
